Back to school Cook Out: On Sunday, August 26th, the Men of Café Domain will treat us to their annual Back to School Cook Out. The meal will be served following the 10am Holy Eucharist that morning. Make sure to bring your appetite.
WELCOME to OUR NEW MUSIC DIRECTOR: We welcome Ms. Hyejung Jun as our new Director of Music Ministry on Sunday, Aug. 26th. She will accompany a Bell duet performed by Betsi Brockmeier and Jodi Heekin at the 10am liturgy. You will have a chance to introduce yourself to her at the Back to School Cook Out.
St. Andrew’s Club: It’s back-to-school time, and with it comes one of our more important ministries, St. Andrew’s Club. The Club meets on Wednesdays during the school year and provides Choral training, activities, crafts, religious instruction and outreach work for kids in Elementary and Middle School. Our first meeting is August 22nd from 3:15pm to 4:45 pm. It’s rules and robes day for the kids. Hope to see you there!
DISCERNMENT CMTE SEEKS INPUT: At its annual leadership retreat, the Vestry of St. Andrew’s decided to employ the Episcopal Church Foundation as a consutant to work with the congregation in developing and implementing a capital campaign to address needs of our building and how it relates to the ministry that takes place here. The Discernment Committee would like your input by answering a few questions. Forms are available at Church or online on our website. The committee will also host a gathering on Wednesday Aug. 29th at 6pm if you want to share your input face to face.
Youth group begins: The St. Andrew’s Youth Group (EYC) will hold their first meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 5th, from 7:00 to 8:30pm. Snacks will be served. The EYC is open to all Middle and High School students.
Permanent Name Tags: We are going to have permanent name tags made for St. Andrew’s parishioners. We are asking you to check the list of members names in the narthex for your name and those of your family members who still attend here. Please make sure we have the correct spelling of your name, or if you have a preferred name you want on your name tag. Please write any corrections next to your name on the list. If you cannot locate your name, please write it on the yellow pad next to the binderl If all is correct, please place a checkmark or write OK next to your name so that we know you checked the list.
SOLDIER OF THE MONTH: During the month of August, we are collecting items for Jonathon Kinser, US Navy, serving in the Mediterranean. Jonathon is the great-nephew of Robin and Alan Miller. Please place your donated items in the American Soldier’s Box located in the narthex. Some suggested items to donate are microwave popcorn, hard candies, magazines, paperback books, playing cards, lip balm, sunblock, twin bed sheets, athletic socks, cookies, Chex Mix, peanut butter snack crackers, microwave mac-n-cheese bowls, summer sausage, peanut butter, nuts, energy bars, Itunes cards, toiletries, DVDs, crossword/Sudoku puzzle books, soft toilet paper, air fresheners, hand lotion/sanitizer. Collection runs through Sunday, August 26th.
